ZIRGARI AWARDS: A RECOGNITION OF EQUALITY

The Provincial Council of Bizkaia and BBK have been organising the Zirgari awards since 2016 to recognise people, entities and companies that work in favour of equality between women and men in Bizkaia. For the second consecutive year, we have had the pleasure of being able to accompany them by collaborating both in the design and writing of the gala script and the different audiovisual pieces. Once again, our task was to position the celebration from a feminist perspective, giving continuity to the common thread of the previous edition. 

This year’s edition closed with more than 60 nominations, thus confirming the commitment of Biscayan society to Equality. The winners were: Dr. Milagros García Crespo (honorary), the group of women Lawyers for Equality (Against Violence against Women), the Tower of Babel initiative of the Ellacuría Foundation (Empowerment and Change of Values) and Portugaleteko Aisialdi Sarea (Active Citizenship). For us it has been a pleasure to accompany from the backstage this recognition of such different and necessary work to build a society that looks differently.
